| Edge Kermel® Industrial FR Shirt
Description
Design and construction of industrial safety clothing is paramount. Comfort is essential since a garment is worn all day long whilst the worker is performing his job. An uncomfortable garment can increase risks - if the garment is too hot, the worker will roll up his sleeves or open his collar resulting in reduced protection. Comfort therefore has a direct relationship to productivity, as a comfortable worker will perform his duties more effectively.
Kermel® fibre is an aramid fibre and belongs to the chemical family of polyamide-imides. Colan Products use Kermel® 70% meta aramid blended with 30% FR viscose to manufacture the fabric used in our Kermel® shirt, trouser and overall. The fabric provides exceptional comfort for use in protection against heat and fire since the chemical structure of Kermel® makes it inherently acid resistant, non-flammable and thermostable. It is used extensively by military forces, emergency services, firefighters, in the oil and gas industries, by electric utility personnel, and in industries where there is a risk of exposure to flame, heat or acid.
