In 1970, OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) came into existence to try to minimize workplace deaths. In 1990 OSHA promulgated their Safety-Related Work Practices regulations and, in conjunction with NFPA 70E, have targeted specific areas of electrical safety relating to employee exposure to electrical work-practice hazards. However, after
nearly 20 years, it is estimated that less than 10% of America's workplaces are in compliance with these safety-related work practice regulations.
